Srimad Bhagavata Mahatmyam 07 – Lord Sri Krishna’s Presence on Earth in this Kali Yuga

Hari Om

My highest Salutations to Lord Narasimha, the destroyer of ignorance and in whose abode resides the Goddess of abundance. My repeated Salutations to him at whose service are Gods themselves at all time. Also, my scaled Salutations to all Gods that includes Hanuman, Sarasvati, Garuda, Sesha, Shiva, Narada, Dhruva, Prahalada who are always brimming with devotion and are never exhausted at the service of Lord. My utmost Salutations to Srimad Acharya and all the Gurus of the lineage through whom the nectar of Bhagavata Shastra has been flowing and seek the shelter of Guru Raghavendra at all times.

Lord Sri Krishna’s Presence on Earth in this Kali Yuga

The rishis, munis & the virtuous who had gathered to hear Srimad Bhagavata, seeing the miracle of how Jnana & Vairagya had regained their youth, were surprised with the greatness of Srimad Bhagavata and wondering how it had gained so much of glory, what is the reason?

Sanakadi munis says:
During the end of Dwapara Yuga, Lord Krishna having completed his objective of reducing the weight of adharma on mother earth by killing evils had decided to go back to his abode, Vaikunta. Knowing this, Uddhava met Lord Krishna at Prabhasa or present-day Somanath Patan and said thus:

Oh! Lord, you came to reduce the weight on mother earth and help Pandava’s. Now, something is bothering me! I am worried! Please help me and bless me with clarity. Now that, Kali Yuga has already started. After you arranged to kill Duryodhana, Lord of Evil has again started his influence on earth. Also, this is his yuga, Kali would rule now. Even the virtuous will come under his influence. Again the weight of adharma on earth will increase. To whom should mother earth take refuge? The kind-hearted, Bhakta vatsala, devotees are dear to you. How could we live without you? The philosophy of nirguna & nirakara i.e. Lord is without attributes & he is formless will start prevailing. This will lead the virtuous to Hell. Please Think! How is it possible for people to live without you?

Uddhava pleaded the Lord to stay back on earth on all our behalf. Lord blessing abaya or safety to Uddhava and told him that he will be available on earth in one of his forms and be present in Srimad Bhagavata. He has told that he will not go away completely and whoever does service to Srimad Bhagavata and take refuge, he will protect them. Hence, Srimad Bhagavata is an idol of Lord. Everyone should have Srimad Bhagavata. Lord is present in the form of words constituting speech. Each word is a part of the Lord. Service of Srimad Bhagavata by hearing, Studying, Seeing, removes one's sins. The jnana yagna or sacrifice by conducting Bhagavata Sapthaha is a Kali-yuga dharma for virtuous. In fact, it removes Sorrow, Poverty and blesses prosperity by absolving sins. For winning over of Kama or lust, Krodha or anger, the best sadhana or process to achieve perfection and ultimately win over deva Maya or confinement to death and birth is doing Srimad Bhagavata sapthaha.

The young lady, Bhakti said to Sanatkumara,
With your Sankalpa Shakti or the energy generated for having decided to narrate Srimad Bhagavata, I became very strong, my sons could get rid of old age and have become youth. Please give me a place to stay.

Sanatkumara says –
Young Lady, you are the one who gives love towards Lord. You are bhava roga hantri or destroyer of emotional or physiological disease. All Vaishnavas who are here and who would come in future, you should reside in them, in their consciousness. In whichever Vaishnava you reside, you would be comfortable there. Kali will not dare to even see you. Sanatkumara, the Emperor of Vedanta Samrajya suggested this to Bhakti to enter every Vaishnava and reside in them, in their mind, in their consciousness and get founded in them.

One is poor, handicapped or with any sort of defects, if he has Bhakti, he is fortunate. Where Bhakti is, the Lord will be there. He is in the bhakti sutra or a concise principle of devotion which includes Jnana & Vairagya. Says Sanatkumara.

In the middle of the assembly, Bhakti entered all Vaishnava followed by her children Jnana and Vairagya. This surprised Narada Rishi.

Sanatkumara says to Narada Rishi that this is the glory of Srimad Bhagavata, what more one could say. Srimad Bhagavata is the physical form of the Lord. By serving this, the Lord will bestow his choicest blessing of Sayujyam or communion or closely united with Lord Krishna permanently and there is no Dharma equivalent to this.

As Bhakti, Jnana & Vairagya entered the consciousness and resided in all Vaishnava, the Bhakti sprouted and the Lord who likes his devotees beyond measure or Bhaktavatsala, came himself living his abode, Vaikunta to Ananda. The Lord came in the form of Sri Krishna.

He appeared in dazzling yellow robes like that of the inner hue in a pour of clean molten gold. The garland of exotic & exclusive flowers that would never lose its freshness. He was appearing in his dark skin like the color of monsoon cloud, ready to pour, but with Jnana and Ananda. He was full of ornaments, a gold waist was appearing as if holding his yellow robes. He wore gold, arm bands, wrist bands, necklaces, crown, and fish-shaped earrings all studded with jewels. The radiance of the gold ornaments was like that of the outer hue in a pour of clean molten gold. The jewels in the ornaments dazzled like million lightening’s appearing at the same time in the sky and the luster of pearls was that of thousand moons.

The Lord was in his elegant tribhangi posture formed by bending the body in four angles at neck for the face, waist for the trunk and knees for the thighs & legs capturing everyone’s heart.
He was holding flute. Wearing Kaustubha mani or jewel which had the brilliance and splendor equivalent to a bunch of rising Sun. His chest and hands were smeared with sandalwood paste and he looked with a charm of over a crore of Manmathas, the God of Love.

Narada Rishi could see, those residents serving lord in amukta Vaikunta, who are the bests of Bhagavata Dharma like Uddhava were entering and taking seats in the assembly in disguised form. As Sanatkumara, Narada Rishi and the other Bhagavatas worthy of the sight of Lord was wondering if the ornaments, the jewels, the flute, the Kaustabha or the fragrance of sandalwood paste adorned the Lord's body or the Lord had blessed them with his fractional features, the Lord entered the clean and spotless hearts of the assembled and to reside in their consciousness.

With the appearance of shoots of Bhakti, Jnana & Vairagya in all Vaishnava, a higher presence of Lord in their consciousness and the presence of bests of Bhagavata ’s the people assembled forgot their house and in fact, they had forgotten about their body. Lost in the thoughts of the Lord, everyone was engrossed with their mind & consciousness. They moved into transcendental state singing & dancing in ecstasy.

Narada Rishi stood up, seeing the assembled, their emotional state and the holiness in the atmosphere, said thus to Kumaras:
This is not, what is connected or happening of Earth. The atmosphere is like in that of Vaikunta. Lord has entered all and everyone is absorbed in the Lord. We have just started the Sapthaha and the impact has been surprising. People of various defects had come here. Some were dull ignorant & stupid not knowing of Lord. Some were fraud, cheat & tricky. Some were proud of having a high ego. Let alone, all those who had defects and sinned have got rid, even the animals & birds around have absolved their sins.

Narada Rishi hailed Sanatkumara and acknowledged that what he had told has happened. To cleanse the mind and remove the filth in the mind, the only remedy is to serve Srimad Bhagavata.
